[personal profile] gladia
I've been giving this a lot of thought.

For several reasons I have decided to delete my hvaharu account. I would love to preserve it, but since there can't seem to be a way to delete just the content of an existing journal (please correct me if I'm wrong), I'm pressed to start a new one.

The new username I chose is gladia. I couldn't come up with anything that's not random, but says something about myself, and yet it's not at all known in my RL.

Finally I settled for Gladia, a heroine of the Naked Sun and Robots of Dawn by Asimov. I always liked the character and there are several points where I can relate to her. She left her planet and went to another one, where she established a new life and ended up happy. And she was an artist, so there.

Also there is the definite "glad" in that name and "adia" sounds almost as Ada, which many people use as my nickname in RL. I don't mind being a glad Ada, of being glad about being Ada. :-) Also, she called herself Gladia Solaria after she left Solaria and came to Aurora, and Solaria sounds like sun and Aurora like dawn, and I do like that.

I will keep hvaharu for the next two weeks or so, and will try to friend all my F-list as gladia before I actually delete the account. That's the whole point of doing it. If I just wanted to burn the bridges, I'd be gone and that would be it. But I do want to keep in touch with you people. So if you receive a friend request from gladia, that's the good old hvaharu asking you. :-)

The reasons for giving up hvaharu: I've felt great here, but somehow I'm no longer into blogging. My blogging was very personal, at at its peak it was very whiny and emo and dealt with issues I feel are no longer relevant. I don't want these to feature anywehere on the internet, not even as locked entries.

Also, real blogging requires time, and I'm rather hooked at FaceBook now since it's a very instant, quick way of posting things. It's definitely not the same, but it's kind of addictive as it makes me able to reconnect with people I knew before and that disappeared from my life as years went by. I do like this aspect of FaceBook, but at the same time I don't want to lose the track of all you lovely people here.

So there.

If there's anybody who knows how to delete the contents of an account without deleting the account, I will be more than glad to hear what you have to say.

Thank you.
